And the work continues

I have a renew appreciation for Infinity miniatures.  Although they may be a little more pricy, they are well worth the money.  The details are crisp and sharp while there are not so many of them that you will go bug-eyed while painting them.  The are very much in an anima style which lends itself to a clean paint style.  I am wondering what they would look like if there were grunged up a bit.  Maybe some weathering and battle damage -- kinda like Blade Runner dirty...

I plan on putting these up in my commission gallery so I painted them to match the box art.  I may have said this before but its nice to not have to worry about a painting scheme.  This especially true of example miniatures.  I also learn a great deal from coping other artists work so that is a plus too.

Until Next time.

Working on some Infinity Panoceania figs

I have been trying to get some examples of my commission work with different figures up for people to see and I finely just "commissioned myself" to get some done.  These are the first shots of my work in progress so they are still kinda rough.  I decided early on to copy the box are so my customers would have something to compare against when making their decision on commissioning me or not.  It also has the added benefit of removing the color scheme choices so there is not fiddling with that which speeds up the process.

I took a few airbrush classes from the now famous Aaron Lovejoy at Reapercon and he really took a lot of the frustration out of airbrushing.  Thanks Aaron!

Memorial Day Panting Binge

I did not manage to get much painting time in memorial day binge, but I did manage to get some paint slapped on miniatures.  Even though they are not finished, I posted them here as my record of participation.

Oh yeah, there was some priming too.

Dodging my ReaperCon Entries

So those of you who are following my blog (you know who both of you are) will know that I have be struggling with my ReaperCon entries this year.  Well fighting really and they are winning.  Winning big time... No matter how many times I have tried to introduce an anti-bullying agreement into the mix, they declined.  They are, in fact, kicking my a$$ or forcing me to kick my own a$$ if you get what I mean.  So I have decided to employ an old tactic that I learned while growing up a uncoordinated youth in a land of sports kids...  Avoidance.  I am avoiding the entries for now.  Avoiding like the plague.  And by avoiding I mean that I have been working on these...

Nice Rack

I have been struggling with paint storage since I got into this hobby and I have never found a solution that I loved--  The holy grail of paint storage.  Paint rack nirvana if you will.  Well here is my latest attempt to pull Excalibur from the stone.  I give you the 2015 paint rack of choice.

Myth Rats!!!

These are some rats from the game Myth from Megacon Games's  kickstarter I backed a while ago.  I am surprised at how easy they are to paint as well as how well the are sculpted.  I painted them to match the game art so I wouldn't have to think about color themes and because sometimes its fun to copy someone else's work.  I tend to learn from their color choices.
